Software Engineer III, Ads, Infrastructure

As a part of Ads Infrastructure, you are at the heart of the semantic revolution of Ads. You will work on advanced language processing systems to retrieve the most meaningful ads, such as giving advanced control to advertisers and providing signals to improve ad quality. You will build large distributed systems under strong latency constraints and offline computation pipelines.Google Ads is helping power the open internet with the best technology that connects and creates value for people, publishers, advertisers, and Google. We’re made up of multiple teams, building Google’s Advertising products including search, display, shopping, travel and video advertising, as well as analytics. Our teams create trusted experiences between people and businesses with useful ads. We help grow businesses of all sizes from small businesses, to large brands, to YouTube creators, with effective advertiser tools that deliver measurable results. We also enable Google to engage with customers at scale.

Responsibilities
- Design new sub-systems of Ads from the ground up (e.g., research, design, implementation, production).
- Review existing systems to improve performance or improve our match quality.
- Research, prototype and incorporate latest technologies in ads system.
- Understand product requirements of our clients and map them to a scalable, high performance, low latency Ads Infrastructure.
- Work closely with many teams such as Product Engineering teams, Quality Engineering, Search, Research and expanding the scope to more clients.
Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
2 years of experience with software development, or 1 year of experience with an advanced degree in an industry setting.
2 years of experience with developing large-scale infrastructure, distributed systems or networks, or experience with compute technologies, storage or hardware architecture.
Preferred qualifications:
- Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or related technical fields.
2 years of experience with data structures and algorithms.
- Experience developing accessible technologies.
- Experience with large-scale distributed systems, applications in search or ads.
- Ability to be curious, eager to learn, collaborate and grow.
