Analytical Lead, Commercial Activation Analytics
The Commercial Activation (CA S&O) team is part of the Global Commercial Enablement (GCE) organization within Global Business Organization (GBO). CA S&O drives activation for GBO, strategically defining prioritization, product taxonomy, and activation levers. We manage activation, ensuring timely deployment and dissemination to the frontline. Furthermore, we conduct deep analysis to identify top seller behaviors, develop actionable insights, and quantify the impact of activation initiatives on key business outcomes.
The Commercial Activation Analytics team’s mission is to optimize the GBO Activation Engine and go-to-market effectiveness with insights on sales activity (e.g., think sales pipeline, meetings, etc.) and programs (e.g., think training, tooling, internal comms, etc.) and ultimately drive incremental growth and Return on Investment (ROI) for Google.
As an Analytical Lead on the Commercial Activation Analytics team, you will understand sales behaviors, activities and skills that lead to optimal business outcomes, and scale that intelligence across GBO. Your role will require strategic thinking, a high level of organization and operation, day-to-day SQL coding, incisive problem-solving thinking and strong communication and teamwork. You will leverage datasets including seller activities and tools, business, product adoption, and training interventions to uncover actionable insights. Your work will directly contribute to understanding the drivers of sales outcomes, identifying and influencing opportunities to increase business and efficiency. You will collaborate closely with data engineers, analysts, and business stakeholders, translating complex findings into clear, impactful recommendations. You will be an expert storyteller and strategist who can create compelling narratives, help to shape the future direction of our efforts, and help to drive our team’s operation.
The US base salary range for this full-time position is $147,000-$216,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities
- Analyze sales and GTM activity data (e.g., pipeline, meetings, business, product adoption, training, etc.) to improve GTM decision making.
- Develop and communicate insights with various teams including Sales, Go-To-Market and global product solutions, and influence strategic and operational decisions.
- Be a thought partner to the Global Commercial Enablement team through data driven recommendations and partner with cross-functional teams to drive tangible outcomes and contribute to team level strategy/operations.
- Design, develop and launch scaled insights solutions (e.g., dashboards, AI-powered summaries) to enable stakeholder teams to independently and consistently track and manage key metrics.
- Build and manage data pipelines to enable single source of truth access to core data, document solutions and metric definitions, and provide education for stakeholders where appropriate.
Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 6 years of experience in go-to-market strategy, sales operations, strategy and operations, management consulting, finance, or corporate advisory.
- Experience in SQL and data visualization tools.
Preferred qualifications:
- 6 years of experience in a large global business driving business outcomes using data analysis, statistical analysis, data pipelines (e.g., SQL), and dashboard solutions (e.g., Tableau, Qlik).
- Experience in B2B sales analytics, business operations, or a related domain.
Knowledge of using statistical modeling tools in Python/R.
- Ability to analyze large datasets using SQL, developing compelling insights and narratives, and telling stories with those insights to a range of stakeholders.
- Excellent strategic thinking and organization skills and ability to navigate complexity.
