Product and Business Strategy Leaders bring together teams across Google’s functions to help products execute optimally. Our team pushes Google to scale at key points that refine our products and infrastructure by executing efficiently, bringing solid business sense and sound judgment, and working effectively across organizational lines.

Our roles often include components of strategy (e.g. analyzing and understanding new trends in the industry, building business plans), operations (e.g. running the cadence of organizations, connecting the operating lines between our functions), and communications. Our team partners with senior leadership to run important functions that cross-cut our existing organizations and deliver high impact projects. We help Engineers, PMs, UX, and all of our other functions to build amazing products that delight our users, and then get those products into their hands.

As an Insights Associate at Google Home, you will develop and implement research studies that provide foundational learning to inform business/product roadmap, product development, and Go-to-Market (GTM) strategy. In this role, you will be responsible for driving consumer research across the product and marketing development process for Google Home Premium, Google Home's Gemini AI subscription service.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $122,000-$174,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Work with stakeholders to define the problem that needs to be solved/supported by insights. Lead a broad set of research efforts including surveys (design, programming, and analysis of results), analysis of secondary data, and qualitative methods to gain understanding of potential and existing customers for the Google Home Premium service.
  • Drive decisions related to customers, product direction, feature set and prioritization, positioning, value propositions, messaging, category/market expansion, product quality, and market white space opportunities.
  • Gather and analyze large amounts of information and develop insightful strategic recommendations.
  • Develop and synthesize insights into frameworks that inform go-to-market strategy and drive key business decisions across product and marketing.
  • Act as an advocate for the consumer to highlight growth opportunities and influence key decisions (e.g., consumer needs prioritization, messaging, pricing structure, feature preference, pricing, etc.).

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Market Research, Statistics, Math, Economics, Psychology, or a relevant field of study, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 4 years of experience in market research or consumer insights.
  • 4 years of experience conducting quantitative and qualitative marketing research projects, including design, programming, fielding, and analysis.
  • Experience in a services/subscription field.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Advanced degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • Experience with consumer behavior (e.g., behavioral economics, consumer journey mapping, decision making models, etc.).
  • Experience programming in Qualtrics or Google Consumer Surveys.
  • Experience working with multiple cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Ability to present and communicate cross-functionally and with executives.
