NPI Operations Program Manager, Platform and Device

As a Program Manager at Google, you’ll lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects from start to finish — working with stakeholders to plan requirements, manage project schedules, identify risks, and communicate clearly with cross-functional partners across the company. Your projects will often span offices, time zones, and hemispheres. It's your job to coordinate the players and keep them up to date on progress and deadlines.
The Platforms and Devices team encompasses Google's various computing software platforms across environments (desktop, mobile, applications), as well as our first party devices and services that combine the best of Google AI, software, and hardware. Teams across this area research, design, and develop new technologies to make our user's interaction with computing faster and more seamless, building innovative experiences for our users around the world.Responsibilities
- Manage a new product ramp, from initial design validation to production phase.
- Drive ramp readiness with engineering, operations, and manufacturers, focusing on capacity planning, factory space, hiring, training, and production qualifications.
- Manage operations-related communications, call out key issues, and present solutions and risk mitigations to cross-functional executive teams.
- Support critical mechanical tooling fixture validation builds from the last phase of design development through initial mass production.
- Drive cross-functional teams to improve supply chain and manage risk mitigation strategies (i.e., tech assessment, cost variance), manage factory equipment budgets, and provide support for products in a sustaining environment.
Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent practical experience.
- 5 years of experience in one or more of the following fields: supply planning, supply chain management, manufacturing operations, and operations engineering.
- 5 years of experience in program management.
Preferred qualifications:
- Master's degree or MBA in Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain, Operations Research, Operations Engineering or other relevant fields.
- 10 years of experience in program management.
- Experience in New Product Introduction (NPI) operations, Supply Chain Management, or manufacturing and development operations, including the management of Contract Manufacturers (CM) and Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM).
- Ability to present to the leadership team and drive solutions across multiple cross-functional teams, and supply chain management team along with excellent communication skills.
- Ability to travel internationally up to 25% of the time as needed.
