Senior Business Data Scientist, YouTube Ads Finance
Google's leadership team hand-picks thorny business challenges, and members of BizOps work in small teams to find solutions. As part of this team you fully immerse yourself in data collection, draw insight from analysis, and then zoom out to develop compelling, synthesized recommendations. Taking strategy one step further, you also persuasively communicate your recommendations to senior-level executives, roll-up your sleeves to help drive implementation and check back-in to see the impact of your recommendations.
In this role, you will shape the platform's business generation strategy. You will leverage data to identify key business opportunities, forecast business growth, and provide insightful analysis to YouTube leadership. This role involves examining ads business generation trends, conducting incrementality or causal studies, and developing scalable financial tools to drive strategic decisions and optimize investment levels.
The US base salary range for this full-time position is $166,000-$244,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities
- Own YouTube's core margin related analytics, project based analytical pipeline to answer detailed questions on how recent trends impact margin profiles, and partner with YouTube finance to build priorities and project pipeline.
- Own, manage, present, and articulate trends impacting business growth and independently execute views and analysis that help provide insights into recent performance.
- Partner with product teams to understand launches that meaningfully change how we serve ads, and collaborate within internal teams to package and bring analysis together.
- Develop scalable financial tools and infrastructure, including advanced datasets, intuitive dashboards, and financial models to deliver timely updates on growth areas and business performance.
Minimum qualifications:
- Master's degree in a quantitative discipline such as Statistics, Engineering, Sciences, or equivalent practical experience.
- 4 years of experience using analytics to solve product or business problems, coding (e.g., Python, R, SQL), querying databases or statistical analysis.
