Head of Professional Services
The Technical Success and Professional Services teams are responsible for ensuring the safe and effective deployment of Generative AI applications for our customers. We are the enterprise transformation engine, responsible for turning frontier AI into secure, scalable, real-world business impact and enterprise level transformation for our customers. We act as a trusted advisor and thought partner for our customers, working to build an effective backlog of GenAI use cases for their industry and drive them to production through strong technical guidance and services. The team partners across industries and global markets to help the world’s most sophisticated enterprises and the most innovative startups deploy OpenAI’s models, products, and platform securely, responsibly, and at scale.
We work deeply with Product, Research, Engineering, and GTM to design and deliver high-impact solutions that enable customers not just to adopt AI products, but to truly transform their business with frontier AI.
About the role
We are seeking a senior executive to build, scale, and lead OpenAI’s global Professional Services organization. This is a high-visibility commercial and operational leadership role responsible for architecting our Professional Services approach, from early customer engagement to enterprise-grade deployment and long-term adoption. This role combines strategic leadership with technical depth and commercial acumen - you’ll lead a world-class team of technical experts, and will be responsible for building delivery excellence, defining engagement standards, and shaping how OpenAI partners with customers so that enterprises accelerate adoption and create lasting value.
This leader will ultimately be responsible for building delivery excellence, defining engagement standards, and shaping how OpenAI partners with customers to bring generative AI into production.
In this role, you'll:
Build and scale a world-class global services organization
Define and own OpenAI’s global Professional Services strategy, including deployment motions, engagement models, partner-led delivery, and international scaling.
Cultivate deep, trusted relationships with C-suite and senior customer leaders (e.g., CIO/CTO/CISO and business executives) and serve as an executive sponsor for OpenAI’s most complex, high impact implementations.
Lead full-cycle delivery
Partner closely with Product and Engineering to shape OpenAI’s enterprise readiness and deployment roadmap, ensuring delivery learnings inform product capabilities while aligning with safety and mission principles.
Establish engagement model and delivery frameworks for complex AI programs.
Develop compelling narratives, executive readouts, and enablement that guide customers through responsible adoption, change management, and operating model design for AI at scale.
Build scalable systems, methodologies, playbooks, and measurement frameworks to ensure predictable delivery performance (e.g., time-to-value, quality, utilization, and services margin).
Recruit, develop, and lead a high-performing global team of services leaders; set a high-bar culture of customer impact, rigor, and operational excellence.
We're seeking someone with experience including:
Have 15+ years of senior leadership experience in Professional Services, enterprise delivery, consulting, or customer transformation at scaled technology companies. Critically, candidates should have experience guiding organization wide enterprise transformation (not just selling products).
Have a track record of engaging directly with CIO/CTO/CISO and C suite stakeholders to deliver complex, multi workstream, high stakes enterprise programs with measurable outcomes.
Are deeply fluent in enterprise delivery realities; security and privacy requirements, data governance, integration patterns, procurement, and change management, and can navigate technical and executive audiences seamlessly.
Bring strong executive presence and exceptional communication skills, with comfort representing OpenAI with senior customer leaders and at industry forums.
Have experience building and leading global teams and (ideally) hybrid delivery models that combine direct services and partner ecosystems.
Can translate ambiguous, first of its kind AI capabilities into clear deployment plans, customer operating models, and repeatable value propositions.
Operate with high horsepower, strategic clarity, strong judgment, and the ability to ruthlessly prioritize in a fast-changing environment.
Care deeply about deploying AI in ways that advance safe, human-centered outcomes and earn long-term customer trust.
