About the team and the role: 

The Vehicles team is dedicated to delivering a comprehensive, trustworthy, and satisfying vehicle shopping experience on eBay. We enable buyers and sellers by offering a wide selection of vehicles, competitive pricing, and a hassle-free end-to-end journey—from discovery to transaction and post-purchase support.

Vehicles is a vibrant and high-impact vertical within eBay, operating at significant scale and complexity, and continuously innovating to meet the needs of a diverse global customer base.

What you will accomplish: 

  • Building browser technologies (Marko, React, Javascript, HTML, etc.) along with web technologies and services (e.g. Java/NodeJS/C++, etc.)

  • Build highly available, scalable user facing applications and RESTful /GraphQL APIs

  • Develop technical & domain expertise and apply to solving product challenges

  • Estimate engineering effort, plan implementation, and rollout system changes. Identify project technical risks and make recommendations to mitigate

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in EE, CS or other related field or equivalent exp.

  • 5+ years of experience working in front-end development using Javascript/Typescript, CSS, React, NodeJS, Server-side rendering using one of the open-sourced UI libraries (Material UI/Ant UI), Integration with REST/GraphQL APIs

  • Strong portfolio demonstrating BEM-structured CSS and understand the intricacies of how browsers work

  • Strong CS foundation (Data structures, Algorithms, Functional Programing)

  • Delivers results in fast-paced environments (agile, TDD, CI/CD)

  • Designs and builds scalable, distributed, available systems
