About the Team

The ChatGPT team works across research, engineering, product, and design to bring OpenAI’s technology to the world.

The International Growth team focuses on making ChatGPT accessible, reliable, and compelling across geographies—removing barriers tied to language, payments, policy, platform differences, and performance. We learn from global deployment and ship improvements that help people discover ChatGPT, create accounts, become active users, and (when it’s right for them) subscribe to Plus—responsibly and safely.

About the Role

We’re looking for an experienced full stack engineer to join the ChatGPT International Growth team and lead high-impact projects that expand ChatGPT’s reach worldwide. You’ll build and optimize product experiences that improve acquisition, activation, and conversion across markets, while partnering closely with product, design, data science, and engineering teams.

This role is ideal for someone who thrives in ambiguity, moves quickly from insight to iteration, and enjoys solving hard problems at the intersection of global product, growth, and systems.

In this role, you will

  • Drive international growth through a mix of product ideation, data analysis, and experimentation (A/B tests, geo rollouts, cohort analyses).

  • Build end-to-end features across frontend and backend: onboarding, access flows, logged-out experiences, and build new growth loops.

  • Design and deploy APIs and services that power localized experiences, experimentation, account flows, and performance improvements.

  • Partner cross-functionally with product, design, data science, and research to ship impactful, safe, and scalable improvements.

  • Improve global readiness by building systems for localization, market configuration, latency/perf, payments/subscriptions, and country launch tooling.

  • Contribute to an inclusive, high-candor culture—where people challenge groupthink and hold a high bar for quality and impact.

You might thrive in this role if you

  • Have shipped growth-focused web (and/or mobile) features like landing pages, onboarding flows, subscriptions, purchase flows, search/discovery surfaces, or engagement loops.

  • Are highly analytical and have experience designing, running, and interpreting experiments; you know what to measure and how to instrument it.

  • Have strong full-stack fundamentals (e.g., modern web frameworks + backend services + databases), and enjoy owning features end-to-end.

  • Understand (or are excited to learn) global product challenges—localization/i18n, country-specific UX, performance across regions, payments, compliance, and launch operations.

  • Learn fast, communicate clearly, and enjoy collaborating across disciplines.

  • Are comfortable with rapid change and ambiguity, and bring structure when things are messy.
