eBay’s Risk Data Science Team is hiring an e-Commerce Payments AML Data Analyst to support the eBay Subsidiary AML, Sanctions, and Payment Entity program. The ideal candidate will bring extensive payment and compliance knowledge and expertise. In this role, you will collaborate closely with Risk, Compliance, and Payment teams to build a global AML, Sanctions, and Payment Entity Data and Reporting Program. Responsibilities include performing compliance-related data analysis to identify and mitigate risks, supporting the compliance investigation review process, reviewing monthly reports, and delivering insightful metrics and reporting enhancements.

Responsibilities:

  • Partner with global AML, Payment and Business teams to gather information on current business and compliance trends and leverage insights to enhance monitoring methodologies.

  • Engineering and Product teams to understand and improve end-to-end data pipelines, strengthening risk monitoring processes.

  • Drive the development of business requirements for key initiatives within the Risk Data Science Team.

  • Support data exercises for reviews, including assessments, internal audits, and regulatory exams.

  • Recommend optimal reporting data architecture, management practices, and performance improvements for data processes.

  • Develop internal controls and metrics to continuously monitor trends and reporting quality; implement processes to detect, correct, and improve data quality.

Qualifications:

  • eCommerce and Payments domain experience

  • Bachelor’s degree required, preferably BS/BA degree Statistics, Applied Econometrics, Math, Analytics, Computer Science, other related Core Sciences or equivalent.

  • 7+ years relevant professional experience or 4 yrs + with a master’s degree

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Proficient in SQL and Advanced Excel. Hands-on experience validating the accuracy of SQL logic querying large data sets and ensuring accuracy of data mapping to eBay’s data systems.

  • Expertise in building decision boards using visualization tools like Tableau.

  • Proficiency in Python and a good understanding of data warehouse architecture is required. Should have knowledge on Spark or Hadoop.

  • Experience in working in an agile environment and collaborating with product and engineering teams on initiatives.

  • Should be a self-starter and be able to initiate and lead multiple projects simultaneously from start to finish.

  • Ability to collaborate across functional teams from different geographies and time zones to achieve project objectives.

  • Ability to learn, adapt and work on New POCs, concepts or tools.

  • Experience working with system and data architecture, data classification, documenting end-to-end data flow and data lineage.

  • Strong understanding of e-commerce and payments financial crimes domain.
