Principal PMT - External Services, AWS Identity and Access Management
We’re the AWS Identity and Access Management (IAM) team. We build and operate one of the largest and most important software systems in the world – one that is used by every AWS customer, makes authentication and authorization decisions about every AWS API request, and needs to scale with all other AWS services.
We're seeking a Principal Product Manager to to play a key leadership role in the next evolution of AWS IAM. You'll own the IAM roadmap and define our product strategy, including related services like Security Token Service (STS) and AWS Sign-In. You'll be relentless about simplifying the IAM customer experience and developer experience, without compromising on security.
In this role, you will collaborate directly with engineering, product, and executive leadership. You are an experienced product manager who understands the big picture, drives prioritization, rallies the team, and mentors junior product managers.

Key job responsibilities
- Define detailed product requirements
- Set business strategy and make high-judgment roadmap prioritization trade-offs
- Gather customer requirements from developers, cloud architects, security engineers, and IT administrators
- Communicate to AWS executive leadership
- Partner with internal and external stakeholders
- Manage risk and escalations, and balance business needs against technical constraints
Basic Qualifications
- 7+ years of working as a Technical Product Manager experience
- 5+ years of technical (software development, network development, IT, other related) experience
- Experience delivering large-scale SaaS, PaaS or LaaS products where you are responsible for the full product lifecycle, from concept through GTM (go to market)
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of security technology and concepts (Authentication, Authorization, Single sign-on, Cryptography, etc.)
- Experience working directly with engineers on customer-facing IAM products

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
