Job Description:
eBay LIVE is a dynamic, real-time commerce platform that connects sellers, creators, brands, and buyers through interactive live content. Protecting intellectual property is critical to maintaining trust and ensuring platform integrity. The Intellectual Property (IP) Compliance Manager for eBay LIVE is responsible for developing, implementing, and enforcing IP compliance programs across eBay LIVE experiences. This role ensures that live content, listings, creator activity, and seller behavior comply with global intellectual property laws and platform policies while balancing business growth, creator engagement, and user experience.
This role offers the unique opportunity to partner with passionate, cross-functional teams dedicated to building the future of shopping. You will partner cross-functionally with the eBay LIVE Operations team, Legal, Trust, Product, Customer Support, and Risk teams to proactively identify IP risks, respond to counterfeit or intellectual property violations, and scale enforcement processes for live commerce. .
What you will accomplish:
IP Compliance & Enforcement:
Own IP compliance strategy for eBay LIVE, including trademarks, copyrights, and counterfeit prevention
Review, investigate, and resolve IP infringement claims related to live streams, listings, and on-demand content
Ensure timely takedowns and enforcement actions in accordance with legal and platform requirements
Escalate high-risk or complex cases to appropriate teams with clear recommendations
Policy Development & Governance
Develop, update, and operationalize IP policies tailored to live commerce and creator-led content
Translate legal requirements into clear, actionable guidelines for creators, sellers, and internal teams
Ensure policies are consistently applied across global markets
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Partner with IP policy managers and IP Legal on Verified Rights Owners (VeRO) programs, notices, and dispute resolution
Work with Product and Engineering to design scalable IP enforcement tools and workflows
Collaborate with Trust and eBay LIVE operations teams to improve detection, response times, and accuracy
Creator & Seller Enablement
Support education initiatives for creators and sellers on IP compliance best practices
Contribute to training materials, FAQs, and guidance for eBay LIVE participants
Balance enforcement with creator experience to minimize friction while protecting rights holders
Risk Management & Insights
Identify emerging IP risks in live commerce, social selling, and influencer ecosystems
Analyze trends, metrics, and enforcement outcomes to inform strategy and improvements
Prepare reporting for leadership on IP risk, enforcement effectiveness, and compliance health
What you will bring:
5+ years of experience in intellectual property compliance, trust & safety, or platform governance
Strong working knowledge of copyright, trademark, and counterfeit enforcement
Experience handling IP notices, takedowns, and disputes at scale
Proven ability to work cross-functionally in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment
Excellent judgment, analytical skills, and written communication
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with live streaming, marketplaces, creator platforms, or social commerce
Familiarity with global IP frameworks (DMCA, DSA, EU directives, general enforcement)
Experience designing operational workflows or tooling for compliance teams
Background working with creators, sellers, or brand protection programs

The base pay range for this position is expected in the range below:
$144,400 - $192,800Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including location, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a target bonus and restricted stock units (as applicable) in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as PTO and parental leave). Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
