What you’ll achieve
As a Software Principal Engineer on the HCI team, you will be responsible for leading the technical direction and architecture of Dell's AI and Solutions hyperconverged infrastructure platform. This role requires close collaboration with cross-functional teams—including engineering, product management, and quality assurance—to deliver high-quality software solutions that meet customer needs. You will drive technical innovation, mentor engineers, and champion best practices and emerging technologies, including AI tools usage
You will:
1.Technical Leadership: Overlook cross Domain Engineering gap/risks and provide guidance to engineers to move forward to meet the Site development target.
2.Architecture: Design and implement scalable, secure, and efficient software architectures for HCI, leveraging cloud, virtualization, and storage technologies.
3.Innovation: Drive technical innovation and stay up-to-date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and Dell's technology strategy to ensure the products remain competitive and innovative.
4.Software Development: Lead the design, development, testing, and maintenance of HCI software applications and features, including API development, UI/UX enhancements, and backend infrastructure improvements.
5.Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure timely delivery of high-quality solutions.
6.Problem-Solving: Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues, perform root cause analysis and recommendations for improvement.
7.Mentorship: Mentor engineers and provide technical guidance to support their career growth and cowork as one team.
8.Strategy: Develop and implement technical strategies to align with business objectives, grow the site capabilities/efficiency.

Essential Requirements
• Bachelo's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field or equivalent 10+ years of experience as a software Engineering leader
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Python/Golang on Unix/Linux/BSD operating systems and understanding of data structures, algorithms, and analysis techniques
• AI‑Enabled Software Design and Development Skills: Experience applying AI‑based capabilities to support software design, development, testing, and troubleshooting throughout the engineering lifecycle.
• Experience with network, storage, security product development
• Proven leadership experience, including mentoring and technical direction, enhance Engineering efficiency
• Ability to lead teams to design, develop and deliver major features on time with high quality
• Able to engage with customers and support when needed to solve production issues
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills
• Familiarity with Agile development methodolofies (e.g. Scrum, Kanban)
Desirable Requirements
•Experience with cloud-native applications and microservices architecture
• Knowledge of cybersecurity principles and practices
• Experience with containerized orchestration systems (Kubernetes, Rancher, etc) is a plus
• Certifications: Relevant certifications, such as VMware VCP or AWS Certified Developer, are a plus
• Knowledge of DevOps practices and tools (e.g., Jenkins, Github CI/CD) is a plus
