Head of Commerce Partnerships, Sellside
Google's line of products and services to our clients never stops growing. The Partnerships Development team is responsible for seeking and exploring new opportunities with Google's partners. Equipped with your business acumen and extensive product knowledge, you are right on the front line of interacting with our partners, and helping them find ways to grow using Google's newest product offerings. Your knowledge of relevant verticals and relationships with key industry players will help shape our great applications and content for products such as YouTube, Google TV and Commerce.
The GP Sellside Monetization team's vision is to fund the world's information by enabling digital platforms, properties, and content creators. We do this by enriching an open and healthy digital ecosystem for all and developing trusted products and partnerships using our reach, unique insights, and people.
The Business Development & Partner Enablement team within the Sellside monetization team is responsible for growing Google's business with publishers large and small in web, apps and video in the local market with solutions including AdSense, AdMob, Ad Manager, and many other Google products.
In your day-to-day role, you will lead a high performing sales team. You will collaborate closely with Product Go-to-Market (PGTM), Business development (BD), gTech, Marketing, and our Exchange Platforms team to grow our existing commerce business and inform our future commerce media strategy by building trusted relationships with some of the top commerce brands in the industry. You will coach your team to deliver positive impact through direct partner engagement and strategic program management.
The Global Partnerships organization is responsible for exploring new opportunities with Google's partners. Google’s Global Partnerships team works with a wide range of partners to bring the best of Google to power their business. The Global Partnerships team supports Google’s own Product teams with essential partnerships to help Google’s user experiences in advertising, Search, Assistant, Maps, Travel, Shopping, Payments and more. Teams create product-enabling partnerships, go-to-market strategies and incubate business growth for a variety of products.
The US base salary range for this full-time position is $218,000-$306,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities
- Manage, develop, and coach a high performing team of individual contributors.
- Set and achieve sales targets and drive high year-over-year growth.
- Develop expertise on the AMS commerce landscape and surface relevant market feedback to cross-functional partners across product, exchange partnerships, and marketing to inform product and sales strategies.
- Build executive level relationships with top commerce partners by being a trusted advisor, sharing business and product expertise, and exceptional relationship management.
Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 15 years of experience in business development or partnerships in the Consumer Electronics, Telecom, E-Commerce/Retail, Apps, Ads, Gaming, or Technology industries.
- Experience working with C-level executives and cross-functionally across all levels of management.
- Experience managing agreements or partnerships.
Preferred qualifications:
- MBA or JD.
- 3 years of experience managing people or teams.
- Experience escalating and presenting key issues and recommendations to executive leadership.
- Ability to facilitate discussions, structure agreements, interpret legal documents, and work with legal teams to sign and manage agreements.
- Ability to grasp complex technical and product concepts.
- Ability to thrive in fast-paced, collaborative, and ambiguous start-up like environments where thoughtfulness, an entrepreneurial mindset, persistent execution, and relationships drive success.
