Production Systems Engineer, Tooling Intern
Description
Meta is seeking a Hardware Systems Engineer Intern to join our Release to Production Engineering team. Our ASIC, servers, and data centers are the foundation upon which our rapidly scaling infrastructure operates and upon which our innovative services are delivered. This intern will discover what a large scale of server fleet needs on tooling as well as how we build and verify new systems for our infrastructure. Internships are twelve (12) to sixteen (16) weeks long.
Responsibilities
Interface with hardware, mechanical, power, thermal and software engineers to understand system architecture. Hands-on system level debug including silicon, PCB Board, Firmware and Operating systems. Drive hardware optimizations by creating hardware, thermal, and mechanical test plans for server hardware. Create and execute system level tests while keeping a complete procedural record and data logs. Create automated test infrastructure through the use of scripting languages and remotely controlled test equipment. Develop and publish test plans and reports and communicate findings to team members Diagnose and root cause hardware and system failures with the help of data analytical tools.
Qualifications
Currently has, or is in the process of obtaining, a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field Coding experience with Python, Ruby, C++, Java, or PHP Knowledge of Linux/Unix environments Troubleshooting and analytical skills Must obtain work authorization in the country of employment at the time of hire and maintain ongoing work authorization during employment Experience in hacking, prototyping and/or overclocking or related work Experience with latest server and CPU architecture and system-level components Intent to return to degree-program after the completion of the internship/co-op
Compensation: $6,813/month to $10,200/month + benefits
