Director, Technical Program Management, Cross-Product Area Resource Management
We are seeking an intellectually curious, purpose-driven, and intrinsically motivated leader to join our team as a Cross-Product Area Resource Management (xPA PARM) Director. To thrive in this environment, you will be a creative catalyst and a trustworthy steward of Google’s resources, adept at pioneering new approaches and orchestrating a portfolio of critical projects across your teams and ensuring we are meeting all xPA budget/launch SLOs.
The Gemini-era, both in terms of the fast-paced rhythm of innovation and increased competitive landscape for limited resources, requires us to re-think well-established processes, automation journeys, and ensure our data and processes are scaled in order to advance stewardship of Google’s infrastructure resources.
In this role, you are expected to promote a mission-driven/GTM culture mindset, which will be required in the Gemini-era. You will be accountable to drive efficient capacity operations and managing the polarity of fast and predictable launch enablement and cost optimization. Your team will lead a variety of complex cross-company infrastructure projects, collaborating with many functional areas, which promotes a healthy mix of ideation and approaches. You'll be the accountable-owner to their clients on all capacity planning and management business needs.
You will be responsible for developing and delivering capacity plans, optimizing resource utilization, managing machine procurement, driving infrastructure improvements, and maintaining the health of Google’s infrastructure. You will partner with Engineering VPs across Google and your work will directly impact Google’s product development speed, innovation rate, and overall success.
Behind everything our users see online is the architecture built by the Technical Infrastructure team to keep it running. From developing and maintaining our data centers to building the next generation of Google platforms, we make Google's product portfolio possible. We're proud to be our engineers' engineers and love voiding warranties by taking things apart so we can rebuild them.
