As an AWS Database Sales Specialist, you will contribute to driving adoption and revenue growth for AWS's comprehensive suite of database services, with a focus on their integration with Generative AI technologies. Your role will involve implementing strategic approaches to identify high-value customer opportunities and engaging with AWS customers to understand their data management needs and align them with AWS database solutions. You will handle complex initiatives throughout the full-cycle sales engagement plan, from identifying qualified leads to realizing revenue.
You will serve as a subject matter expert and trusted advisor, implementing and optimizing AWS database services to unlock new value streams and solve key business problems. With a strong understanding of how AWS database services power Generative AI applications, you'll help customers navigate the rapidly evolving landscape of AI-driven data management.
AWS Sales, Marketing, and Global Services (SMGS) is responsible for driving revenue, adoption, and growth from the largest and fastest growing small- and mid-market accounts to enterprise-level customers including public sector.

Our specialist analytics sellers are considered as "The GM for their business". They have revenue accountability for their country group across all segments, and need to create and execute a plan to reach annual full year revenue targets. They orchestrate across multiple teams, with primary focus on customer engagements on key deals, supporting partners, as well as providing key insights and analysis for their analytics business all up to key stakeholders in EMEA and Corp.

Key job responsibilities
- Implement and optimize strategies to drive revenue, adoption, and market penetration of AWS database services such as Amazon Aurora, Amazon RDS, Amazon Redshift, Amazon DynamoDB, Amazon DocumentDB, and others within your assigned territory.
- Create and articulate compelling value propositions around AWS database services, with a focus on their role in powering Generative AI applications.
- Contribute to comprehensive account/territory plans to meet or exceed quarterly revenue targets.
- Handle complex initiatives while collaborating with Solutions Architects, GTM, and Partners to drive customer outcomes, especially in the context of Generative AI implementations.
- Engage with C-level executives and technical decision-makers to understand their business initiatives and craft solutions that leverage AWS database services.
- Build and maintain a robust sales pipeline and develop strategic relationships with key accounts.
- Contribute to best practices by staying current with database technology trends, especially in relation to Generative AI, monitor the competitive landscape, and educate customers on how AWS services can meet their evolving needs.
- Work effectively with AWS partners to extend reach and drive adoption of database services in AI-driven applications.
- Gather customer feedback to inform product roadmaps and enhance the AWS database service offerings.
- Represent your region vis-à-vis AWS product teams and influence our GenAI & AI/ML roadmap to best support your customers.
- Work with account teams, AWS specialists (solution architects, data scientists) and partners to deliver results for your customers.

Basic Qualifications
- Experience in direct sales or business development in software, cloud or SaaS markets selling to C-level executives
- 5+ years of business development, partner development, sales or alliances management experience
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in building profitable partner ecosystems
- Experience developing detailed go to market plans
- Experience across the Data and Analytics specialty
