In this role, you will be a part of Cloud Networking and are responsible for designing and developing the user-facing networking products that are a part of Google Compute Engine (GCE) APIs. You are responsible for the API interfaces, data-model and orchestrated programming of all of the networking control plane infrastructure, enabling sophisticated functions such as cloud load-balancing, routing, firewalls, virtual private networks, peering, hybrid cloud, organizational policies, among others.

Responsibilities

  • Modernize the existing infrastructure by transitioning our systems in a microservices oriented architecture based on new protocols for building the control planes in Google Cloud Platform.
  • Build control plane for user facing networking features and products in various areas (e.g., NICs, hybrid cloud, security).
  • Define API interfaces for end users.
  • Interact with internal data-model and orchestrate programming of all of the networking control plane infrastructure.

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 1 year of experience with software development in one or more programming languages (e.g., Python, C, C++, Java, JavaScript).
  • 1 year of experience with data structures or algorithms.
  • 1 year of experience building and developing large-scale infrastructure or distributed systems.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience with distributed systems, networking or cloud infrastructure.
  • Experience in Java.
