Senior Software Engineer, Full Stack, Mixboard

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $166,000-$244,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain scalable and reliable front-end and back-end services using Angular, React, and Kotlin to power the Mixboard multi-modal canvas.
- Collaborate closely with research teams to apply Large Language Model and multi-modal techniques, transforming experimental AI solutions into production-ready product features.
- Lead the design and implementation of agentic applications and advanced AI prompting strategies that intuitively understand user intent to perform creative tasks.
- Manage high-performance data storage and retrieval through spanner integration and take ownership of deploying, monitoring, and maintaining services in production.
- Partner with front-end engineers and cross-Product Area teams to define seamless APIs and iterate quickly on "zero-to-one" projects within the Google Labs incubator.
Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 5 years of experience with software development in TypeScript and Kotlin.
- 3 years of experience designing, building, testing, maintaining, and launching scalable front-end applications.
Preferred qualifications:
- Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or a related technical field.
- Experience with WebGL or similar web-based 3D graphics APIs (e.g., OpenGL ES).
- Experience programming for 2D graphics.
- Experience with front-end core technologies such as React.
