As a part of the Borglet team, you will work on an on-machine agent within Borg Google's Cluster Management System, one of the most impactful software systems at Google affecting all companies'workloads, supporting the latest kinds of workloads, hardware and security measures, where the team operates as small groups executing on various infrastructure projects with significant freedom and team support, with projects typically lasting 6-12 months allowing flexibility to move between areas as desired.Google Cloud accelerates every organization’s ability to digitally transform its business and industry. Responsibilities

  • Own assigned functional areas.
  • Understand guest (virtualized) and host (hypervisor) environments and develop secure solutions that connect both.
  • Develop code in C++.
  • Collaborate with peers to identify, design, create and optimize software features that run on Google's hardware stack.
  • Lead the design and development of infrastructure to automatically measure and detect regressions in key performance metrics at scale.

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5 years of work experience in software development.
  • 5 years of coding experience in one or more of the following languages: C++, C, or Rust.
  • 2 years of experience in a technical leadership role overseeing projects.
  • Experience in concurrency, multithreading and synchronization.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience with Linux Internals, Kernel, Virtualization, C++.
