About the team and the role:

eBay, Inc. seeks MTS 1, Systems Admin in Austin, TX 

What you will accomplish:

Job Duties: Design, install, configure, and maintain database systems, including monitoring, tuning, and solving issues. Configure and maintain database servers and processes, including monitoring of system health and performance, to ensure high levels of performance, availability, and security. Ensure data security and integrity, including implementation of access controls, backups, and recovery plans. Implement disaster recovery plans and procedures to ensure database availability during system outages or dysfunction. Apply data modeling techniques to ensure development and implementation support efforts meet integration and performance expectations. Independently analyze, solve, and correct issues in real time, providing problem resolution end-to-end. Refine and automate regular processes, track issues, and document changes. Assist developers with complex query tuning and schema refinement. Manage SQL server databases through multiple product lifecycle environments, from development to critical production systems. Provide 24x7 support for critical production systems. Perform scheduled maintenance and support release deployment activities after hours. Share domain and technical expertise, providing technical mentorship and cross-training to other peers and team members. Employer will accept a 3 or 4 year bachelor’s degree. Partial telecommuting permitted from within a commutable distance.

What you will bring:

  • Minimum Requirements: Minimum Requirements: Bachelor’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer and Information Science, Engineering, Business Administration or a closely related field plus ten years of experience in the job offered or a related occupation.
  • Special Skill Requirements: 
  • Design, Implement, Administer, Analyzing and Deploying OLTP database (Oracle/Exadata/SQLSERVER/ MYSQL/ POSTGRESSQL/Mongo) (7 years)
  • Process Automation using PowerShell and Shell Scripting (7 years)
  • Ensuring efficient database operations using Oracle RAC/Oracle Data Guard/MSSQL Clustering/MSSQL Always on/MSSQL Log shipping/MYSQL Clustering (7 years)
  • Troubleshooting and providing recommendations for server performance issues using Oracle AWRRPT/Oracle Stats pack/Oracle Grid/MSSQL Profiler (7 years)
  • Administering Web server and middleware for websites using IIS (Internet Information Services) (7 years)
  • Migrating Datacenters using Oracle RMAN/Hot Backup/Goldengate/ZDLRA (7 years)
  • Providing database security solutions using Oracle Key Vault, TDE (Transparent Data Encryption), Role Management, Security patches (7 years)
  • Upgrading databases to new releases using OPatch/SQLServer upgrade packages (7 years)
  • Migrating on-premise databases to Cloud using Microsoft Azure Cloud migration utility (7 years)
  • Merging legacy databases with new systems using Goldengate, Oracle Datapump, MSSQL Replication (7 years)

Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including location, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a target bonus and restricted stock units (as applicable) in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as PTO and parental leave). Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
