Job Summary:

This job establishes overall business or technical strategy for risk management, influences executive-level decision-making through strategic risk assessments, partners with stakeholders to implement risk reduction strategies, monitors risk exposure, and leads initiatives for long-term sustainability and resilience.

  • Influence executive-level decision-making through strategic risk assessments and recommendations.
  • Partner with stakeholders to implement strategies that reduce or transfer identified risks.
  • Monitor and analyze risk exposure to ensure alignment with organizational objectives.
  • Lead initiatives that contribute to long-term sustainability and resilience in the face of uncertainty.

Expected Qualifications:

  • 10+ years relevant experience and a Bachelor’s degree OR Any equivalent combination of education and experience.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Foster close relationships with cross functional stakeholders and work collaboratively to enable compliant and customer centric solutions and experiences.
  • Define compliance requirements and ensure they are fully understood by stakeholders and integrated in product development lifecycle and roadmaps.
  • Provide subject matter expertise regarding identifying, assessing, prioritizing, and managing compliance risk through issue and incident management oversight, risk assessment, and regulatory change management.
  • Partner with the business to understand their needs and assist in identifying and developing process and control improvements.
  • Collaborate with team members in the identification and assessment of compliance risks associated with new products and services.
  • Support the intake and review of Product related initiatives, including new products, enhancements, regional expansion and deprecation to ensure identification and mitigation of all risks and that regulatory requirements are met.
  • Support ongoing and targeted compliance monitoring and/or testing, by regulators, internal audit, first line testers, and second line testers.
  • Identify and influence action across potential areas of increased compliance risk, propose solutions to resolve issues, and provide guidance for future avoidance of similar issues.
  • Provide regular updates and presentations to senior leadership on emerging risks, trends and regulatory changes impacting their products, services, and markets.
  • Provide input into the development of risk and compliance reviews for senior leadership, noting key areas of focus and progress against established goals.
  • Escalate timely and actionable information to key stakeholders.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 12 years of relevant work experience and a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.

Preferred Qualification:

  • 12+ years of experience in financial technology, payment compliance, systems, financial regulation, or related field.
  • Proven track record in driving positive outcomes between compliance and business leaders.
  • Excellent project management skills, well organized, with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced work environment and manage numerous projects simultaneously under deadline pressure.
  • A high level of intellectual, professional, and interpersonal agility/flexibility, combined with strong analytical/problem-solving skills.
  • Strong ability to inspire/foster an inclusive/diverse culture.
  • Demonstrated ability to build/maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including strengths in influencing, conflict management, and negotiation.
  • Ability to communicate complex matters in a simple and clear manner.
  • Experience in partnering with senior business stakeholders, particularly in the context of a rapidly evolving environment.
  • Excellent ability to analyze risks in complex business processes and recommend controls to mitigate those risks.

The base pay for this role will depend on where you work and the relevant experience and expertise you bring. The expected range of pay for this role by location is:

Omaha, Nebraska | ($152,500.00 - $226,600.00 Annually)

Additional Location(s) | Pay Range:

San Jose, California | ($176,500.00 - $262,350.00 Annually)
Chicago, Illinois | ($160,500.00 - $238,700.00 Annually)
Austin, Texas | ($160,500.00 - $238,700.00 Annually)
Scottsdale, Arizona | ($152,500.00 - $226,600.00 Annually)
Additional compensation for this role may include an annual performance bonus, equity, or other incentive compensation, as applicable. This role is also eligible for a range of benefits which may include, medical, dental, vision, life and disability insurance, parental and family leave, 401(k) savings plan, paid time off, and other benefits.
