Our team works closely with creative engineers, designers, marketers, etc. to help design and develop technologies that improve access to the world's information. We're responsible for guiding products throughout the execution cycle, focusing specifically on analyzing, positioning, packaging, promoting, and tailoring our solutions to our users.

Play has a global presence and a range of Android Developers which demands a highly flexible and scalable business platform. As part of the business platform team, you will be working at the intersection of digital, commerce, and payments with a charter to help our incentives platform to scale in an efficient way.

Google Play offers music, movies, books, apps and games for devices, powered by the cloud. It syncs across devices and on the web. As part of the Android and Mobile team, Googlers working on Google Play do everything from engineering our backend systems, to shaping product strategy, to forming great content partnerships. They make it possible for people to do things like buy an ebook or song on their Android phone, then have it instantly available on their laptop. The Google Play team enhances the Android ecosystem by giving developers and partners a premium store where they can reach millions of users.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $156,000-$229,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Partner closely with engineering to define goal, strategy, and roadmap for Play Promotions Platform, focusing on enabling the infrastructure that supports the catalog of offers and incentives for Google Play.
  • Work directly with both internal and external partners to understand business models and incorporate platform gaps into product strategy.
  • Develop an understanding of Play Promotions Platform and its complex role in the ecosystem of Play incentives.
  • Work across Play’s product and engineering teams to advise on and ensure platform consistency and scale.

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5 years of experience in product management or related technical role.
  • 2 years of experience taking technical products from conception to launch (e.g., ideation to execution, end-to-end, 0 to 1, etc).
  • Experience working with a team of cross-functional stakeholders such as software engineers, designers, technical writers.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience in a commerce related field.
  • Experience developing Internet products and technologies.
  • Experience with managing mobile technology.
  • Experience developing technical road maps and plans to implement end-to-end solutions, and effective communication of the road map to cross-functional stakeholder.
  • Ability to drive the product goal, go-to-market strategy, and design discussions.
