As a Technical Program Manager at Google, you’ll use your technical expertise to lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects from start to finish. You’ll work with stakeholders to plan requirements, identify risks, manage project schedules, and communicate clearly with cross-functional partners across the company. You're equally comfortable explaining your team's analyses and recommendations to executives as you are discussing the technical tradeoffs in product development with engineers.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and implementation of Waste Heat Recovery and Industrial Water Reuse projects for Google data centers, ensuring sustainable and resilient resource management.
  • Conduct comprehensive feasibility studies, technical assessments, and risk analyses for proposed projects (e.g., heat and water), including assessing cooling system efficiency benefits from heat recovery.
  • Identify, evaluate, and establish relationships and agreements with third-party users of recovered heat and source viable industrial/alternative water sources for data center cooling.
  • Coordinate with internal engineering, design, construction, and operations teams, as well as external consultants, to successfully implement projects at new and existing locations.
  • Manage the technical, regulatory, and commercial aspects of project development, including necessary treatment and conveyance infrastructure for water reuse solutions.

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Environmental, Civil Engineering, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5 years of experience in program or project management with a focus on energy infrastructure, water/wastewater treatment, or utility projects.
  • Experience in the development, scoping, or management of waste heat recovery or industrial water infrastructure projects.
  • Experience with industrial water reuse.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Licensed/Chartered Professional Engineer (or equivalent).
  • Experience with partnering or managing third-party utility or service agreements.
  • Understanding of data center infrastructure, particularly cooling systems and their energy/water demands.
  • Familiarity with environmental regulations, permitting processes, and water rights.
  • Ability to manage cross-functional technical projects with internal and external stakeholders.
