As a key member of the AWS New Zealand team, you will contribute to shaping the future of AWS Aotearoa during an exciting period of growth, following the launch of our new AWS Region in 2025. This senior sales role offers an exciting opportunity to help drive growth and shape the future of emerging technologies for a high-potential set of software vendor customers.
AWS is seeking an experienced Sr. Account Executive for selling to Strategic ISVs and expanding business with our New Zealand ISV customers. You will play a pivotal role in accelerating the adoption of AWS technologies, particularly in spearheading Generative AI and agentic AI innovations across the software industry to enable business transformation and create new opportunities. In this role, you will be responsible for setting long-term strategies and executing daily to grow customers, building and maintaining broad relationships across all levels of customer organizations, developing and managing complex opportunities, and orchestrating cross-functional teams to deliver customer outcomes.
The Account Executive will team with all aspects of the customer's organization including C-level executives, product, engineering, IT/operations, partner organizations, and sales teams. This role requires creative systems thinking, visioning, and executing via collaboration with extended teams to address all ISV customer needs. You will sell at the most strategic levels within accounts while implementing broad strategies for earning customer acceptance and service implementation. Working collaboratively with all appropriate AWS resources (Executives, Partners, Support, Solution Architects), you will strongly advocate for the customer in harmony with AWS business needs, maintaining dotted line responsibility for partnership and technical collaboration.

Strategic Account Management
- Team with all aspects of the customer's organization including C-level executives, product, engineering, IT/operations, partner organizations, and sales teams
- Sell at the most strategic (C-level) within accounts and implement broad strategies for earning customer acceptance and service implementation
- Build relationships across accounts using creative systems thinking, visioning, and collaboration with extended teams
- Execute go-to-market strategies and develop opportunity pipelines in complex ISV environments
- Drive revenue growth and customer success through technology adoption initiatives, with focus on AI/ML and Generative AI solutions
- Develop and manage complex sales opportunities from identification through closure
- Drive new service adoption and new line of business development
- Orchestrate cross-functional teams including AWS Executives, Partners, Support, and Solution Architects to deliver customer outcomes
- Strongly advocate for the customer in harmony with AWS business needs
- Maintain dotted line responsibility for partnership and technical collaboration
- Collaborate with ISV partners to develop joint go-to-market strategies
- Demonstrate thought leadership in digital transformation and cloud adoption
- Engage in executive communication and customer-facing presentations
- Stay current on AI/ML technologies and their business applications

Basic Qualifications
- 5+ years of technology related sales, business development or equivalent experience
- Experience with startups or large enterprise customers
- Experience building and managing a healthy sales pipeline focused on driving revenue, adoption, and market penetration
- Experience in large complex deal negotiations with a successful track record
- Experience working with and presenting to C-level executives, IT, and lines of businesses across organizations or equivalent
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience selling AI/ML solutions
- Experience across New Zealand and Australian markets
- Knowledge of New Zealand technology ecosystem and ISV landscape
- Background in cloud computing or SaaS business models
- Established network within New Zealand's software and technology community
