We are a passionate team of Business Intelligence Engineers (BIEs), Data Engineers (DEs), and Data Scientists (DSs) within Amazon’s Seller Services organization. Our mission is to deliver scalable, data-driven analytical solutions that empower sellers to succeed on Amazon’s global platform.

We are currently seeking a self-motivated and experienced Business Intelligence Engineer I to join our team. In this role, you will play a key part in a high-impact product development and management. You’ll be responsible for designing robust data models, developing complex ETL pipelines, and collaborating closely with global business and technical stakeholders to solve critical business problems.

Key job responsibilities
As a Business Intelligence Engineer (BIE) at Amazon, you will collaborate closely with senior Data Engineers, BIEs, and Product Managers to build stable and high-performing data solutions. Your responsibilities will include transporting and transforming data between file systems and databases, designing appropriate data models based on business logic, and working with upstream source teams to identify and resolve data quality issues.

About the team
The International Seller Service Central Analytics (ISSCA) team is a highly specialized, cross-functional group dedicated to delivering critical business insights and driving strategic breakthroughs. Our team brings together experts from diverse disciplines—including data scientists, economists, business intelligence engineers (BIEs), data engineers (DEs), and business analysts (BAs). We are at the forefront of leveraging large-scale data, advanced analytics, and machine learning techniques to empower decision-making and innovation across Amazon’s global seller services.

Basic Qualifications

  • 10+ years of professional or military experience
  • 5+ years of SQL experience
  • Experience programming to extract, transform and clean large (multi-TB) data sets
  • Experience with theory and practice of design of experiments and statistical analysis of results
  • Experience with AWS technologies
  • Experience in scripting for automation (e.g. Python) and advanced SQL skills.
  • Experience with theory and practice of information retrieval, data science, machine learning and data mining

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working directly with business stakeholders to translate between data and business needs
  • Experience managing, analyzing and communicating results to senior leadership
