Software Engineer
Unified Data Ingestion (UDI) team is a central platform team for Identity organization responsible for distribution and processing of the logs produced by Identity services. UDI platform is a high scale distributed system processing trillions of logs per day in under 10 minutes on average. The team's focus is around ingestion latency, security and cost optimization.
Responsibilities
- We are looking for an experienced engineer passionate about building scalable, secure, and maintainable backend services.
- The ideal candidate has a strong track record in designing reliable systems, writing clean code, and driving engineering excellence across the development lifecycle.
Responsibilities include:
- Design and implement scalable backend services and automation workflows.
- Drive engineering excellence through secure coding, robust testing, and maintainable design.
- Own end-to-end feature development, ensuring reliability, diagnosability, and customer transparency.
- Collaborate across engineering, product, and incident management teams to improve service health and operational readiness.
- Participate in on-call rotations and live site investigations, applying structured debugging and telemetry analysis.
- Contribute to architecture discussions, design documents, and cross-team dependency management.
- Ensure compliance with security, privacy, and accessibility standards throughout the development and deployment process.
- Bachelor's/Master's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 1+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C#, Scala, JavaScript, or Python OR 5+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C#, Scala, JavaScript, or Python .
Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft background and Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
