As a Technical Program Manager at Google, you lead complex, multi-disciplinary engineering projects using your engineering expertise. You plan requirements with internal customers and usher projects through the entire project lifecycle. This includes managing project schedules, identifying risks and clearly communicating them to project stakeholders. You're equally at home explaining your team's analyses and recommendations to executives as you are discussing the technical trade-offs in product development with engineers.

Using your extensive technical and leadership expertise, you manage projects of various size and scope, identifying future opportunities, improving processes and driving the technical directions of your programs.

In this role, you will help evaluate, plan, design, cost, and build new and enhanced space in data center facilities. You will be working with and defining new solutions and strategies to solve the data center infrastructure growth requirements of networking spaces globally. This will span all areas of data center infrastructure including building design, fiber, AC and DC power infrastructure, cooling, racks, space, security, and others as needed.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $183,000-$271,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Lead with knowledge in creative solutions for data center infrastructure (e.g., space, power, and cooling).
  • Partner with network architects and deployment engineers to translate physical demands of the network (e.g., space, power, fiber) to requirements of building designs.
  • Work with design engineering firms and partners to develop solutions that can be deployed to support Google’s global network.
  • Work with vendors (e.g., racks, rack, network equipment vendors) to define how they develop new products to ensure they are deployable for Google globally.
  • Present to executive leadership design and cost options to solve problems of the Google network.

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 8 years of experience in program management.
  • 8 years of experience in multi-discipline roles such as network, fiber, electrical, or mechanical (cooling).

Preferred qualifications:

  • 8 years of experience managing cross-functional or cross-team projects.
  • Experience working on defining and designing data center infrastructure.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a data-driven analytical approach to solving challenges.
  • Excellent organizational, multitasking, and prioritization skills with attention to detail.
