Description
The SME(Surface Finishing) team is responsible for the technical interface between Apple's product design groups and our suppliers, driving the development of plating related processes. In this role, you will support other SME in vendor and project management like data analysis and process audit and also for the yield and process improvement at plating .Your contributions will include process audit to make sure all our process requirements is 100% followed at vendor side and also review their daily yield and FACA report to check how could we maintain or improve the yield.
You will learn chemical analysis, plating process maintenance and some plating tools design and how to do data analysis to support yield improvement. Enhance your communication with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams.
Responsibilities
- Process audit: audit the process according to the DFM/PMP which approved by other SMEs to make sure the process is under a right control.
- Daily yield review: check whether the yield is under a good control and whether it is stable.
- FACA with vendors: join in the key defect failure analysis and review the actions to set up a clear path to solve the issue/defect we have.
- Data analysis: use the data including the process parameter and defect data to do the analysis for some specific defects to get a clear understanding like what’s the root case and what’s the next step or actions.
- Time management: set up the priority and check point for each key actions to make sure it followed with our build schedule.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor or Master degree in the Chemical or Chemical Engineer industry
- Knowledge of chemical analysis
- Strong written and oral English communication skills
- Available for a minimum 6-month internship
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of plating
- Material and metallurgical knowledge of metals, especially aluminum, steel, and stainless steel is preferred
- Experience with JMP and Minitab
- Know how to use cross section and SEM/EDS for failure analysis
- Quick learner, capable to quickly pick up process knowledge, self navigated, proactively to provide innovative solution
- Ability to work on plating vendor sites independently and willingness on over 50% travel frequently (mainly in China)
- Deep understanding of machine learning model development and optimization for numerical data and image data
