Senior Software Engineer, Wearables and Health Data Governance

At Wearables and Health Data Governance team, our mission is to help people lead healthier, more active lives by empowering them with data, inspiration and guidance to reach their goals. We build trust by empowering our customers to control their personal data. The team creates services and tools to manage health user data and helps the company meet its privacy and compliance commitments.
The Platforms and Devices team encompasses Google's various computing software platforms across environments (desktop, mobile, applications), as well as our first party devices and services that combine the best of Google AI, software, and hardware. Teams across this area research, design, and develop new technologies to make our user's interaction with computing faster and more seamless, building innovative experiences for our users around the world.
Responsibilities
- Write and test product or system development code.
- Participate in, or lead design reviews with peers and stakeholders to decide amongst available technologies.
- Design and implemet major software components, systems, and user-facing features.
- Architect and develop solutions to ambiguous problems with wide impact.
Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 5 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages.
- 3 years of experience with testing, maintaining, or launching software products, and 1 year of experience with software design and architecture.
Experience with back-end development in Java.
Preferred qualifications:
- Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science, or a related technical field.
- 5 years of experience with data structures and algorithms.
- 1 year of experience in a technical leadership role.
- Experience developing accessible technologies.
