Develops and/or validates software that enables Intel GPUs. Scope can spans the entire stack, from firmware and device drivers through APIs and the application layer, and may also include the tools, infrastructure, and technologies necessary to develop, profile, optimize, and productize Intel GPUs or graphics/GPGPU software solutions.

Job Description:
Intel's Graphics Software Engineering group is looking for a graphics software developer with 3D driver development expertise.

The ideal candidate will have a passion for 3D graphics and looks to develop high quality and performant drivers to deliver compelling gaming experiences on Intel's Xe line of products.

Responsibilities:

  • Effectively work with cross-geo teams spanning software development, validation engineering, hardware/software architecture, performance analysis and other support teams to create, innovate and deliver cutting edge hardware and software platforms.
  • Demonstrate a structured approach in design, development and verification of 3D graphics driver features and enhancements for graphics APIs.
  • Analyze hardware and software functional and performance for implementing driver-based optimizations, engage with ISVs to optimize for Intel Graphics and drive recommendations and studies for future hardware design.
  • Continuously enhance graphics drivers for currently shipping platforms to deliver compelling graphical user experiences for new game titles, applications and operating system upgrades.

Qualifications:

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or equivalent with 7+ years of industry experience in R/D, product development and/or validation. -OR- Master's Degree with 5+ years of industry experience in R/D, product development and/or validation.
  • Strong background and experience in C++
  • Solid understanding and experience with at least one modern graphics API such as DirectX, Vulkan or OGL.
  • In-Depth of knowledge in the areas of 3D graphics pipeline and rendering techniques.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills and clarity in technical communications.
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently and lead technical projects.


Nice to have:

  • Master's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or equivalent.
  • Experience developing graphics device drivers and hardware/software interfacing.
  • Experience developing production software with multi-geo and cross-cultural communication experience.
  • Knowledge of Linux operating system and experience in developing 3D applications and/or drivers on Linux.
  • Experience in 3D Gaming Industry is an added advantage.
  • Experience and/or knowledge in compilers is an added advantage.

The Software Team drives customer value by enabling differentiated experiences through leadership AI technologies and foundational software stacks, products, and services. The group is responsible for developing the holistic strategy for client and data center software in collaboration with OSVs, ISVs, developers, partners and OEMs. The group delivers specialized NPU IP to enable the AI PC and GPU IP to support all of Intel's market segments. The group also has HW and SW engineering experts responsible for delivering IP, SOCs, runtimes, and platforms to support the CPU and GPU/accelerator roadmap, inclusive of integrated and discrete graphics.
