This job participates in complex problem resolution and leads projects of diverse scope requiring an understanding of current business trends. They determine methods and procedures for new or special assignments and drive global process improvements through communication initiatives.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Lead complex communication projects and campaigns, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
  • Develop and execute advanced communication strategies to enhance brand visibility and reputation.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to identify communication opportunities and challenges.
  • Implement best practices for communication management and reporting.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards in all communication efforts.
  • Provide mentorship and technical guidance to the communications team.

Expected Qualifications:

  • 8+ years relevant experience and a Bachelor’s degree OR Any equivalent combination of education and experience.

Key Responsibilities 

  • Develop and execute robust PR and communications strategies that position the company as the leading voice in German eCommerce and payments, driving launches and industry engagement across DEATCH. 

  • Build, nurture, and leverage strong relationships with top German media, industry influencers, and key ecosystem partners, ensuring coverage in relevant outlets. 

  • Serve as the primary media contact for German-language press, with the ability to craft narratives that resonate within regulatory, innovation, and payments topics. 

  • Lead integrated communications campaigns tailored to the German market, blending earned media, social, influencer partnerships, and paid amplification for maximum impact on our consumers. 

  • Proactively manage reputational risk and act as lead in crisis communication situations, working closely with internal teams. 

  • Cultivate and manage relationships with external agencies, setting clear briefs aligned with payments-specific business needs, and evaluating performance rigorously. 

  • Collaborate with marketing, legal, product, and sales teams to amplify campaigns, ensuring strong stakeholder alignment and leveraging payment innovation stories for business growth. 

  • Measure PR and communications effectiveness, using data-driven insights and local market intelligence to continuously optimize outcomes. 

Qualifications 

  • Minimum 10 years senior experience in PR and communications, with a strong record in complex, multi-market financial services environments (payments and eCommerce). 

  • Demonstrable expertise in omni-payments, digital banking, and technology innovations, supported by deep relationships with leading German media in those sectors. 

  • Native-level fluency in German, with excellent written and spoken English; knowledge of other DEATCH local languages is an asset. 

  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams, launch major campaigns, and drive measurable results under tight deadlines. 

  • Outstanding storytelling skills and reputation for thought leadership in highly regulated, competitive industries. 

  • Extensive experience managing agency partnerships and budget oversight for communications activities. 

  • Ability to thrive in high-energy, mission-driven environments and prioritize initiatives for maximum business and reputational impact.
