Legal Counsel - Beijing

Summary

This position will support a number of complicated legal and regulatory matters that may arise in Greater China regions, including commercial, R&D, marketing and other corporate legal matters.

Description

Major responsibilities of this position include: (i) Commercial - provide legal advice on commercial and other transactions; (ii) R&D - handle product related R&D matters and provide legal advice on local regulatory requirements; (iii) Marketing - review advertisement and promotion materials; (iv) work on various regulatory issues and regulator engagement in Greater China regions; and (v) others – work closely with US legal teams on local law issues and provide legal advice to different corporate functions. This position will have the opportunity to work closely with different business teams, corporate functions and management.

Minimum Qualifications

• Law degree in China and China qualification
• 4 - 8 years PQE
• Outstanding written and oral communication skills in Mandarin and English
• Solid legal knowledge and lawyering skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Overseas education and qualification
• Prior experience in TMT sectors or emerging technology
• Work experience in a major international law firm, a top Chinese law firm or a MNC
• Broad knowledge of multiple legal fields and ability to adapt to new practice area
• Attention to details and ability to work independently
• Strong client relation skills and experience working directly with management
• Self-motivated with excellent time management skills
