The Branded Gift Cards team aspires to build the largest selection of gift cards on Earth — from global brands like Apple and Google to local neighborhood businesses. Part of the Amazon Payments organization, Amazon's fast-growing Gift Cards (GC) business significantly contributes to the company's profitability.
Amazon is searching for a world-class professional to help grow its branded gift cards business and manage brand relationships in Japan.
This position is responsible for growing the business through business development and marketing. It is also responsible for brand management, on-site sales promotion planning and execution to raise customer awareness of Branded Gift Cards, and driving innovation for customers.
The position requires strong relationship management skills and a growth mindset. Analysis of business priorities and results while consistently delivering improved customer experiences is a must.
Further responsibilities include analysis of the competitive market space and business needs, providing input into product requirements, execution of the sales strategy set by local and global teams, and providing support to your team in achieving its goals.

You partner daily with brands, distributors, and internal teams to grow the Branded Gift Card business. A typical week includes running partner business reviews, planning and executing promotions with brands, troubleshooting catalogue and ASIN issues, and analyzing your P&L to find growth and cost-saving opportunities. You work closely with worldwide Branded Gift Card peers in NA and EU, and with local marketing, operations, tech, finance, and legal teams to launch new brands and improve the customer experience.

The Branded Gift Cards team manages third-party branded gift cards — from global brands like Apple and Google to local businesses — and is the fastest-growing channel in the portfolio. We are a small, high-ownership team where each Channel Manager owns a P&L and its strategy end to end, collaborating with worldwide colleagues in NA and EU. We move fast, experiment, and obsess over the customer.

- Brands selling gift cards on Amazon
- Tech integrators
- Marketing and operations teams
- Amazon Ads teams
- Product management, finance, accounting, tax, risk and legal teams
Key job responsibilities
- Own the P&L for a portfolio of branded gift card partners, driving incremental revenue and cost savings
- Acquire and manage relationships with gift card brands and with distributors of gift cards and prepaid products
- Negotiate and execute vendor-funded promotions and on-site campaigns with brands and distributors
- Drive new brand acquisition and expand the Branded Gift Card selection
- Maintain the Branded Gift Card store, including catalogue and ASIN troubleshooting
- Identify, scope, and manage projects, including initiatives beyond the primary business
- Collaborate with worldwide Branded Gift Card colleagues in NA and EU on shared strategy

Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree
- Business Level English proficiency (speaking, writing and reading)
- Over 5 years experience, particularly in: Business development, channel development, Marketing, Consulting, Product Management
- Experience using data and metrics to determine and drive improvements
- Experience owning program strategy, end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership
- Root cause analysis and issue resolution skills based on logical thinking
- Strong profit and loss analysis and ownership
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience influencing at all levels within an organization, particularly at the executive level
- Experience managing a profitable P&L
- Experience working with global cross-functional teams
- Business level or above Japanese language skills
