Manufacturing & Product Quality Engineer - Softgoods Operations

Responsibilities

• Closely work with quality counterpart and cross-functional team on quality readiness and deliverables (quality docs, deliver quality data, metrology development, develop cosmetic specifications & etc) in different stage of development and ramp (OK2xx).
• Act as site lead at vendor on quality deliverables and drive yield improvement.
• Conduct factory and periodic quality data audit with OEM to ensure compliance to Apple materials quality standard.
• Lead quality issues to closure by applying a balance of technical and program management skills
• Drive new vendor quality assessment, development and performance through evaluation matrix
• Work collaboratively with Supply Management/Technical and cross-functional teams on new vendor qualification
• Successful candidate might be required to undergo on-job training in China and other regions as business needs.

Minimum Qualifications

• BS in Engineering (Material Science, Mechanical, Manufacturing preferred), minimum 5 years experience in manufacturing and textile industry is preferred.
• Data driven and results oriented approach to problem solving, quality data analytical skills (Minitab/JMP) is a plus
• Ability to work collaboratively with cross-section partnership for new material development and address complex quality challenges
• Ability to work independently at vendor sites on program deliverables
• Willing to travel to manufacturing sites within and outside of Vietnam
• Strong written communication skills in English, including functional requirements and management presentations

Preferred Qualifications

• Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering preferred.
• Softgoods (Leather, Textile & etc) manufacturing process knowledge and quality familiarity.
• Experience working with high volume manufacturers and travelling to manufacturing sites.
• Project management experience influencing others while having no direct authority.
• Demonstrated an ability to adapt solutions to always-changing conditions.
• AI/ML application experience.
