Meta seeks highly motivated, curious, adaptive team players to serve as Associate General Counsel, Product (Ads). This role is dedicated to providing strategic legal advice to internal product and business teams, primarily in connection with our processing of data for ads and measurement purposes. The role requires the application of evolving legal frameworks to new products and services as well as a willingness to learn complex technical systems. This is a great opportunity to learn about interesting new technologies and business models and work on novel issues in an environment with constantly evolving priorities.

Responsibilities

Analyze global products, features, and initiatives and provide practical legal risk mitigation strategies for products across multiple jurisdictions Provide product, engineering, and other business teams with legal advice across various subject areas including consumer protection laws, data protection laws and regulations, and other global legal frameworks Drive high-profile and high-impact projects involving legal analysis and compliance with cross-functional stakeholders across Meta’s business, policy, legal, communications, security, and other cross-functional teams

Qualifications

Juris Doctor (JD) or equivalent law degree from an accredited institution Active and in good standing bar license in at least one U.S. state or equivalent foreign bar license. Where the jurisdiction of licensure differs from the location in which the role is based, the ability to promptly obtain permission to practice law for Meta in that location 8+ years of legal experience as a practicing attorney, including at a law firm, in-house, or in government Experience taking a proactive approach to your work and working under your own initiative, seeking feedback and input where appropriate Experience prioritizing work and providing counsel in a deadline driven envirnoment Proven problem-solving and experience varying communication skills for a target audience Experience with global privacy legal requirements, especially those relating to social media, digital advertising, or other technologies Experience with managing legal risk across multiple jurisdictions Experience of advancing simultaneous projects in a multi-stakeholder environment

Compensation: $202,000/year to $274,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits
