Principal Member Technical Staff (C/C++)
Oracle’s Database Development organization is seeking seasoned developers passionate about building innovative AI and data systems.
As a Principal Member Technical Staff, you’ll play a pivotal role in designing, developing, and debugging Oracle’s next-generation, massively distributed, and highly scalable data storage and query processing engine.
You will serve as an expert developer, applying your extensive coding experience to solve complex challenges in database technology—especially within Vector AI and data systems. This is an exceptional opportunity to contribute to a cutting-edge platform used by enterprises worldwide.
Responsibilities:
1. Design, develop, troubleshoot, and debug software for databases, applications, tools, and networks.
2. Apply expert coding knowledge and advanced debugging techniques to deliver robust and reliable solutions.
3. Architect and implement highly scalable solutions for Oracle Vector AI and core database kernel components.
4. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality features on time.
5. Drive innovation and best practices within the team.
6. Enhance and maintain Oracle RDBMS and associated subsystems.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
1. Demonstrated expert coding experience, particularly in C and C++.
2. Strong adaptability to learn new technologies and respond to dynamic project requirements.
3. Exceptional problem-solving and debugging skills, including root-cause analysis of complex issues.
4. In-depth understanding of data structures, operating systems, and database kernel internals.
5. Practical knowledge of AI/ML system development, with experience in large-scale systems and vector databases.
6. Experience in automating database components and processes.
7. Broad and deep Oracle RDBMS technical knowledge is strongly preferred.
8. Proven track record of successfully delivering complex database or data-processing software.
Preferred Qualifications:
1. PhD or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, BSc or licenciatura Computer science or a related field.
2. Experience with distributed systems at scale.
3. Prior contribution to open-source or commercial AI/data system projects.
