This is a EE Validation engineer role in System EE team for Datacenter program based in Taiwan. We're looking for talented and driven individuals to join our team to take ownership of Electrical Validation on SI/Signal Integrity and PI/Power Integration validation, and debug into the issue and work with Design EE to fix the issues by HW or SW. The candidate will play a meaningful role in the development of Apple products, collaborating with mechanical engineering, software, testing engineering and other cross function teams.
Description
You will participate in design and development of next generation Datacenter product from concept to mass production. Day to day tasks involved in electrical validation execution, validation report review, failure analysis, issue fixing and validation report etc.
You are the technical contact at OEM site to support EE validation tasks at engineering builds. Represent the EE team in a multi-functional team environment. Helping factory with EE and validation related issues and driving post ramp quality issues.
You are able to identify and prioritize EE and EE validation related issues. Drive resolution of multi-functional issues including those related to architecture (performance, power consumption, thermal behavior), production (quality, failure analysis, manufacturing), development (schematic design, PCB layout, and overall system integration) and SW (Diagnose SW and OS SW) etc.
Good ability for issue summary and reporting.
Minimum Qualifications
- BS/MS EE with 3-5+ years overall experience
- Solid understanding of design and validation requirements for common low-speed and high-speed digital interfaces: I2C/SMBus, SPI, JTAG, I2S/TDM, USB, MIPI, PCIe, HDMI, DisplayPort, Thunderbolt, Ethernet, DDR Memory etc
- Good understanding of power design, especially DC-DC power design, debug and characterization
- Familiarity with all the equipments in EE lab - Oscilloscope, Spectrum Analyzer, Power supply, TDR, Frequency Counter etc, and the test SW on them, very good at operating them
- Experience with board and system level bringup, validation and debug, including new or custom silicon
- Automation and data processing script development using Python, Lua, and Bash
- Data analysis and visualization using Python, Tableau, JMP, R, and/or Matlab
- Excellent written and verbal communication/presentation skills in English and Chinese
Preferred Qualifications
- Demonstrated ability to understand technology and debug problems at varying levels of abstraction, from the server rack level level down to chassis level, further down to motherboard level and silicon/transistor level
- Solid EE fundamentals, grounded in a proven understanding in Server and Datacenter products, or other pioneering consumer electronics products
- Hands-on experience the fixes and mitigations to electrical validation failures
