Apple is looking for a Display Optical Engineer to lead the display development and qualification to design innovative Displays.

Description

The individual will be responsible for the managing overall display module development acting as Direct Responsible Individual. Will focus on optical design, validation and failure analysis necessary to deliver displays into final products from initial design concept. Mainly will handle display optical data analysis, image processing and simulation collaborate with display vendors, engineers in Cupertino and cross function team in Asia as a focal point.

Responsibilities

  • Lead display development through communication with Display vendors , also collaborate with various system teams at final assembly site to resolve display related issues
  • Review and analyze design and process related data to understand commonality and present high level summary with clear path forward.
  • Design DOE and FA to validate process and design and leading corresponding teams and vendors to achieve target effectively.
  • Define display FOS (Front Of Screen) symptom during product development at display vendor site and final assembly site.
  • Provide optical data analysis and image processing, create index to root cause and designing mitigation plan.
  • Investigate up-to-dateDisplay technologies and generate new approaches to further enhance Apple display performances.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Optics/ Image processing / Computer science/ Electrical Engineering /Physics / material science
  • High degree of motivation, curiosity, passion, creativity
  • Logical thinking and excellent project management and people skills
  • Demonstrated in depth Optical knowledge and ability to perform Optical simulation and large qty data analysis
  • Proficient English communication skills in both written and verbal
  • Ability to travel up to 30% throughout a year

Preferred Qualifications

  • Ph.D degree or equivalent experience in Optics/ Image processing / Computer science/ Electrical Engineering /Physics / material science
  • In-depth theoretical knowledge and experience of various display solutions
  • Experienced in working directly with OLED or micro LED display or future display product development
  • Experienced in hands on failure analysis and FOS(Front Of Screen) issues define
  • Deep understanding of EE and optical data processing skills
  • Experienced in optical simulations and image processing
  • Experienced in program languages , Java, Python, C++, Matlab
