The Retail Operations, In Store Experience team is looking for a dynamic, energetic, and technical individual to lead our China-focused Retail experience development. In this role, you will define a strategy, lead a cross functional team, and rapidly design, build, test, and iterate customer-facing experiences in Apple Retail Stores. You will cultivate a culture of rapid learning, iteration, and innovation. You will work cross-functionally with partners across Apple and Retail, including Product, Engineering, Field, Operations, Engagement, Marketing, and others. You'll lead in a variety of ways - energy, action, expertise, relationships, and collaboration with the goal of building the greatest Retail experiences on earth for our customers.
Description
As the lead for our In store Innovation in China, you will be the focal point of architecting and building the technology for customer-facing experiences in Retail Stores. Partnering across the organization and broader Apple, you’ll develop a strategy to best showcase Apple’s products, software, and services while pushing the boundaries of what is possible.
You will identify and mobilize opportunities to improve customer experiences while creating clarity across a complex landscape—connecting business, product and engineering teams.
You'll lead through a customer-first lens, using insights to inform decision-making, track progress toward goals, and ensure alignment with Apple's broader strategies. You will study customers’ feelings experiences and make improvements according to research and feedback. You will identify technical requirements and develop ideas through scenarios, sketches, story boards, user flows, wireframes, motion studies, mock-ups and prototypes. You and your team will build these prototypes, work cross-functionally to test concepts in stores, rapidly incorporating learnings, and iterating upon them. You will develop measurement criteria to define success. You will stay informed on technology and research on customer preferences, identifying opportunities to incorporate new technologies and interaction patterns to customer problems. Your ultimate deliverable will be the interactive experiences in our stores.
Minimum Qualifications
- 7-10 years of hardware/ software engineering and/or product management experience related to consumer products and/or Retail
- Comfortable navigating fast-paced, dynamic environments with a balance of strategic vision and hands-on execution
- Technical understanding and hands-on experience with Native App development, “Super App” design and architecture, back-end systems, and content management systems
- Experience mentoring a team responsible for the delivery of technology initiatives and software and hardware systems
- Expertise leading complex, cross-functional initiatives involving multiple technology systems and platforms
- Hands-on experience in Agile Software Development and rapid iteration/ prototyping
- Demonstrated deep understanding of the customer-facing technology landscape in China, and approaches necessary for success
Preferred Qualifications
- Exceptional communication and influence skills, with the ability to drive clarity and alignment across all levels
- Experience creating and managing product roadmaps supporting operational and business goals
- Skilled in developing requirements for engineering and design teams, and guiding solution delivery through every phase
- Willingness to travel up to 30% domestically and internationally
