We have an opportunity for a Technical Program Manager who is responsible for delivering high quality and efficient manufacturing lines on-time to support all Apple products. We are searching for an awesome TPM who enables the design by partnering with engineering to understand the design intents and translate into equipment, process and operational requirements that enforces through entire supply bases, solving problems and clearing hurdles along the way.
In this highly visible technical leader role, you will be the resident factory specialist who responsible for development, qualification, optimization and production ramp of new process, assembly fixture and equipment for manufacturing. This is a hands-on position requiring both outstanding technical skills and strong leadership capabilities with sounds interpersonal traits.

Description
Lead with accountability: Provide total ownership of manufacturing efficiency, yield, quality, performance, cost and readiness from new product introduction (NPI) phase to ramp volume to meet commitments and deliver impactful results.
Innovation: Anticipating and adopting innovations down to the details. Provide leadership and drive yield, operational excellence initiatives and manage expectations with suppliers through direct interaction, effective communication, and continuous improvement efforts.
Collaboration: Partners with contract manufacturers (CM) and internal multi-functional team in new product engineering builds to meet shared objectives. Leading in developing the process, assembly fixtures, equipment DFM, technical program management from technical operations and manufacturing perspective.
Flexibility and Adaptability: Willingness to adapt and approach problem flexibly starting with the recognition that we do things differently at Apple without compromising the integrity and outcome. Leadership of failure analysis and corrective action investigation (FACA), manage suppliers performance through process management control (PMP), objective measurement systems, SOP documentation, audits and on line verification. Implement effective communication plan, manage issue list (MIL) tracker and summary and corrective action plans thorough life cycle of products.
Communicate what matters: effective executive communication in writing and presentation with accurate and concise reporting in regular cadence. Call out key concerns, assess risk, and provide options for resolutions to core team.
Flexible for travel to factory to manage CMs on-site upon needs.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in engineering field (Mechanical, Mechatronic, Electrical), or equivalent related.
- Proven track record and above 7 years of technical operation management position in high tech industry, solid understanding of new product introduction (NPI) operations, manufacturing design and quality.
- Fluent proficiency in English.
Preferred Qualifications
- Excellent problem solver with engineering failure analysis and corrective action (FACA) skills, using structured problem solving methodology to assign root cause, plus develop and implement corrective and preventative actions.
- Excellent communicator who can translate high-level goals into tangible action plans with good story-telling skills.
- Able to work under pressure and hands-on mindset.
- Highly motivated and able to lead multi-functional team across cultures with unique background and technical expertise thru excellent project management and product development experience. PMP qualification is a plus.
- Understand mechanical drawings, precise assembly principles (GD&T), manufacturing process design, ERS (engineering requirement specification), Assembly MCO (Manufacturing Change Drawing), fixture and equipment DFM and tolerance stack ups (TSA) for assemblies and part level are preferred. Experience in product mechanical design and failure analysis techniques are a plus.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skill with capability to adopt critical thinking and debate skills and able to convey ideas clearly and concisely. Solid presentation skills.
- Familiar with equipment and productivity efficiency calculation including, first pass yield, cycle time, UPH, OEE, MMR, downtime, machine utilization, etc.
- Familiar with automation, robotic assembly and Assisted Optical Inspection (AOI) process. Experience in artificial intelligence (AI) with machine learning methodology is a plus.
- Excellent problem solver, using structured problem solving (FACA) methodology to identify root cause and implement corrective and preventive measures. In-depth knowledge in quality methodologies with common of tools, including ISO standards, Statistical Process control (SPC), MSA radar, 8D, FMEA, DOE, etc. Six-sigma and lead manufacturing qualification is a plus.
- Strong capability and passion on data statistical analysis with visualization using JMP, Tableau, MiniTab and python to resolve technical problems.
- Familiar with common measurement metrology and failure analysis methods, like X-Ray, CT, Cross Section, etc.
- Familiar with manufacturing management, reporting and product traceability systems such as SQL, MES, shopfloor, Agile PLM, Bill of Materials (BOM) and etc.
- MBA and Mandarin will be advantageous.
