Description

As an R&D Line Metrology and Test Technician, you will be responsible for operating standard off-the-shelf (OTS) metrology instruments as well as customized metrology solutions for calibrating, characterizing, and testing display modules and components. You will partner with Apple’s engineers to support metrology bring-up, execution, validation, and sustaining operations during early-stage R&D development.

Responsibilities

  • - Operate a variety of OTS metrology instruments (e.g., CMM, spectrophotometers, mechanical test, machine vision inspection, microscope, rheometer, viscometers, hazemeter, film thickness mapping) and customized-developed systems for calibration and measurement.
  • - Execute metrology tasks including tool bring-up, gauge repeatability & reproducibility (GRR), daily audits, DOE operation, and first-level issue reporting.
  • - Support engineering builds through measurement setup, execution, data collection, and basic analysis.
  • - Perform equipment setup, calibration, preventative maintenance, and basic troubleshooting of metrology and test systems.
  • - Handle engineering materials, components, and samples with accuracy, including tracking usage and maintaining records.
  • - Work closely with engineers and cross-functional teams to define measurement requirements and execute trials.
  • - Document and communicate issues clearly for resolution and continuous improvement.
  • - Follow cleanroom/lab safety protocols, standard operating procedures, and EHS guidelines.
  • - Coordinate with vendors and internal facility teams for equipment move-in, support, and maintenance activities.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree and above with 2+ years working experiences in science and engineering related field
  • 2+ years working in clean room environment for equipment and process operation.
  • Can read and follow technical instructions in both English and Mandarin.
  • Flexibility of work shift including day shift or 2 days on/2 days off

Preferred Qualifications

  • Hands-on experience with metrology and test equipment.
  • Knowledge of basic troubleshooting and maintenance techniques.
  • Familiarity with engineering build processes and material handling.
  • Detail-oriented, organized, and able to work independently or in a fast-paced team environment.
  • Good communication and problem-solving skills.
