Description

The DFA financial analyst, based in Tokyo, is part of the Japan & Korea Sales Finance team and will play a key role in driving business performance by providing financial insights based on in-depth analysis.

Key Interaction with:

• Sales Finance teams in Japan and Korea
• Sales Directors and Account Managers
• Sales Planning and Operations team
• Worldwide Sales Finance in Cupertino
• Pacific Operations team

  Responsibilities

  • Work close with Sales and other Sales Finance team to build quarterly unit forecast for future quarters and deliver written and verbal presentations to senior management and executives
  • Propose detailed revision to current quarter forecast on weekly basis and explain internal and external drivers & financial impact
  • Analyze performance to date and assess potential risks and opportunities
  • Understand the Japan & Korea Channel business and strategy and come with insightful analysis on variability of business performance
  • Collaborate with Pacific Operation teams and Worldwide Sales Finance to enhance the business impact. Be responsible for sharing insights and analyzing current business trends

  Minimum Qualifications

  • High level of analytical skills with attention to details and ability to influence with numbers
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to clearly articulate results to both leadership and cross-functional teams, representing Finance
  • Self starter & great teammate with positive, dedicated and open attitude
  • Ability to prioritize workload and respond quickly to urgent request. Flexible and adaptable
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines and deal with ambiguity
  • 3+ years of forecast/planning experience or consulting/analytic type of roles
  • Excel Specialist and Keynote/presentation skills
  • Proficiency in spoken and written English, and business-level Japanese

  Preferred Qualifications

  • BA/BS degree or equivalent experience
  • Knowledge of SQL, Tableau, and other data analytic tools is a plus
  • Extremely curious and willing to learn; who can see big picture understanding business context and drives issues to root cause
  • Innovative team player, who is willing to challenge the status quo and make operational improvements
