Strategist, Marketing Communications (Marcom) - Korea

The work of Marcom Korea includes Localization, Advertising, partner Retail Experience and Communications, Interactive/Digital, Video & Motion Graphics, and Direct. It is the organization that plans, localizes, conceptualizes and implements Apple’s product and services communications.
Description
We are looking for a Strategy lead role to spearhead Marcom and cross-marketing initiatives by working closely with the Korea Marcom Leader, Product Marketing, PR, retail, and sales team to identify and address Apple’s critical challenges and opportunities in the market. You will partner with the worldwide strategy team based in Cupertino to provide market insights, knowledge, and inspiration to some of the best creative talent in the world and champion the best multichannel work that only Apple can and should deliver.
This position requires a self-motivated, flexible individual with very strong analytical, strategic, communication skills
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (PM, PR, Sales, Channel, Interactive, Brand, WW Strategy Team) and draw on different sources of data & knowledge to build tangible insights & briefs to address business challenges or opportunities
- Partner with cross-functional teams to create and present culturally insightful, brand centric messaging across multiple customer touch points
- Drive the development and execution of locally relevant strategic initiatives across product, e-commerce, social, and data science
- Develop annual and quarterly marketing plans for the Korean market by consolidating market analysis, competitive insights and strategic priorities to identify opportunities and gain alignment with overall strategy and objectives
- Maintain on going knowledge and an informed point of view regarding the cultural nuances and contexts that might affect Apple products' adoption in the Korean market
- Share Korea Marketing and global teams with regular communication-based insights, competitive reviews, and market snapshots that could impact briefs and subsequent creative work
Minimum Qualifications
- 12+ years experience of strategic delivery in a marketing capacity, whether in creative development, brand building, or business consulting
- A track record of leading strategic conversations with creatives, agency partners, and people from various internal disciplines.
- Experience synthesizing and translating complex information into easily understandable and compelling narratives for a diverse range for stakeholders.
- Proven track record building relationships, collaboration and influence with key stakeholders among different functions
- Business Level fluency in English/Korea for verbal/written communication
Preferred Qualifications
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to aggregate and spot patterns within multiple sources of data (sales, business, behavioral and media data). Equipped with the knowledge of South Korea's digital social and commerce landscape.
- Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to effectively advocate and shepherd the strategy through a large cross functional organization.
- Highly collaborative with the ability to actively engage with and consider multiple perspectives in pursuit of the best approach to the idea.
- Strong commercial instincts and proven experience in research/business problem identification and resolution.
- Strong knowledge of the digital devices (especially mobile phone) sales channel environment which includes carriers (KT, SKT, LGU+), eCommerce, retailers, or 3rd-party stores
- Phenomenal writing, visual story-telling, and presentation skills are required
- Spent considerable number of years living and working in Korea will be beneficial
