Apple’s Video Engineering Camera team develops the core technologies that power the photographic and cinematic experiences across all Apple products. We design the image and video processing pipelines that bring every photo and video to life. We are looking for a highly motivated Generative AI Intern to explore cutting-edge techniques that push the boundaries of computational photography and video.
Description
As an intern on our team, you will contribute to research and prototyping efforts that shape the future of Apple’s camera capabilities. You will collaborate closely with engineers across Apple to explore new idea and build innovative camera technologies.
Responsibilities
- Design, train, and fine-tune generative models to tackle practical challenges in image or video processing.
- Explore creative applications of Generative AI for future camera experiences.
- Build prototypes and conduct experiments to evaluate feasibility and user impact.
- Present findings and recommendations to the team and contribute to the broader research direction.
Minimum Qualifications
- Currently pursuing a MS, or PhD in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- Hands-on experience with Generative AI models (e.g., VAE, MMDiT, Transfusion, MoT) and fine-tuning(such as LoRA, DPO) through research projects, or internships.
- Proficiency with PyTorch.
- Strong programming skills in Python; familiarity with C++ is a plus.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a collaborative environment.
- Professional working proficiency in English (written and verbal) is required for this role.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with large generative modeling(10B+) for image or video (e.g., text-to-image, text-to-video, video-to-video) through research projects, or internships.
- Publications or submissions to conferences such as CVPR, ICCV, ECCV, NeurIPS, ICLR, or SIGGRAPH
- Demonstrated ability to take a project from exploration to a working prototype.
