Description

You get to be a geometry-creation magician in whatever CAD packages and/or styles of modelling (facets, sub-divisional, classical nurbs, etc.) you prefer. Just go fast. You'll be in our open-space studio, side-by-side with designers building the next generation of hardware shipped worldwide by a multi-national corporation, intuiting their directions, taking in conversations, sketches, screenshots, CAD, whatever. Chase all the options (even your own, but ego left at home) to find the right solution.

Responsibilities

Quickly build and iterate on digital 3D Models of Hardware Products using multiple CAD softwares (sub-divisional, facets, classical nurbs, etc.) Facilitate the exploration of design ideas by working with the ID team, capturing their ideas and turning them into digital (and 3D-printable) shapes Combine usability, aesthetics, and technical insight to solve complex design problems Contribute concepts and problem solving across multiple projects Navigate cross-functional teams in a highly collaborative environment

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in industrial design, motion design, art/animation or related field. (Or relevant experience.) 5+ years of experience in 3D modeling, 3D art, Industrial Design or a related field 2+ years experience of concepting and modeling consumer electronics or wearable tech products Demonstrated expertise in 3D modeling with a solid skill set of techniques ranging from sub-divisional, facets, classical nurbs, etc. (Rhino, Alias, 3D Studio Max, Maya, etc.) Experience working with imported 3D CAD data, manipulating, editing, adding to it, etc Experience in a physically-based rendering program(s) (Redshift, Octane, V-Ray, Arnold, Corona, Keyshot etc.) Knowledge and experience with the Industrial Design process, tools and language Expertise in Maya, and/or Blender, Cinema4D, Houdini, Redshift Experience in creating simulations and procedural workflows (Houdini, Rhino Grasshopper and/or Cinema4D) Great knowledge of Industrial Design best practices

Compensation: $144,000/year to $204,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits
