As a Hardware Validation Engineer in iPhone system EE team, you will be a leader who is responsible for the planning, executing and tracking of electrical validation from first prototype through launch. Using deep technical knowledge and sharp interpersonal skills, you will operate seamlessly with System EE team in US and lead the CM (Contract Manufacturing) EE team to deliver the highest quality products.

Description

In this role, you will have the opportunity to tactfully identify, call out, and mitigate project risks, all while keeping the critical path to complete each validation cycle top of mind.

You are someone with strong electrical engineering fundamentals, possess proven hands on experience with lab equipment like oscilloscopes, probes, power analyzer, spectrum analyzer. Have a good understanding of a series of low speed and high speed buses. Passionate about planning, and able to expertly drive a list of critical asks to closure with multiple engineering teams.

Responsibilities

  • Join the NPI (New Product Introduction) build support activities on the ground to get familiar with the hardware.
  • HW validation hands on once being familiar with iPhone hardware.
  • Lead a CM HW validation team and review their deliveries daily.
  • Communicate validation progress/status with US VPM (Validation Program Manager) and Hardware Leads to prioritize project tasks and identify and mitigate technical risks.
  • Build relationships with multi-functional development teams in the US and China in order to integrate their feedback into the daily validation tasks.
  • Invent and implement creative improvements on validation tools and process

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor or Master degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • 2+ years of working experience in consumer electronics industry.
  • Be very familiar with oscilloscopes and probes, understand the best practices in test setup, signal measurement and the reason behind.
  • Experienced with I2C, SPI, MIPI, PCIE, DP or similar interfaces, as is experienced with DC-DC power electronics.
  • Proven curiosity about both hands on validation and interpersonal communications.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both English and Mandarin.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong electrical/system engineering fundamentals, preferably with experience working on computer, mobile phone or other embedded systems.
  • Quick learning capability in a fast-paced environment.
  • Real passion for shipping high volume and high quality products.
  • Programming capability using Python, C, Lua, Matlab, etc is a huge plus.
