Design Engineer, Design Tools

Description

At Meta, Design Engineers solve complex Product Design problems with Engineering skills. This is a unique, specialized role on Meta’s Design Tools team with a mandate to support efforts around quality and craft, improve design systems and tools, and help launch 0-1 product concepts and ideas that are reviewed by leadership.

Responsibilities

Contribute to product strategy for a comprehensive suite of AI Design Tools, covering all stages of user experience and development Contribute to product design, specifying how our AI design tooling works in a highly complex and technical space Directly contribute front-end code, and work with Software Engineers and Product Designers to launch new tooling features Work with UX research to understand user issues for AI design workflows, and identify new opportunities for tooling assistance Support the integration of cutting-edge models, such as Llama4 and beyond

Qualifications

4+ years of experience with front-end development 4+ years of experience with product design and strategy Understanding of design principles and the knowledge to build experiences that span mobile and desktop browsers and native platforms Experience in full lifecycle of design and development -- including ideation, UX design, prototyping, and development Familiarity and experience with React High-level familiarity with modern AI models

Compensation: $139,000/year to $199,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits
