You will be part of a platform engineering team responsible for distributed data ingestion, processing, and insight delivery systems that operate at scale and support mission-critical healthcare workloads.
2. Job Summary
As a Lead Engineer, you will design, develop, and operate highly scalable, fault-tolerant distributed systems and cloud-native services. You will own features end to end—from architecture and implementation to deployment and production support—while contributing to data-intensive platforms that power real-time and batch analytics. This role is ideal for engineers who enjoy solving complex systems problems, working with big data technologies, and maintaining high engineering and operational standards.
3. Key Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain distributed, scalable, and fault-tolerant systems.
- Develop and operate cloud-native services on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) using modern infrastructure and internal tooling.
- Own features end to end, including design, development, testing, deployment, and production support.
- Define technical specifications for data ingestion platforms and microservices, and lead their implementation.
- Optimize data processing pipelines to improve throughput, latency, and system reliability.
- Apply strong engineering and operational best practices to ensure high-quality, resilient services.
- Contribute actively to architecture discussions, design reviews, and standard engineering practices.
- Troubleshoot production issues and continuously improve system stability, performance, and observability.
4. Qualifications & Skills
Mandatory
- 5+ years of experience designing, developing, and delivering scalable software products with full lifecycle ownership.
- Strong experience building distributed and data-intensive systems, including microservices architecture, API design, and data modeling.
- Proficiency in Java or other JVM-based languages.
- Experience building secure, reliable, and high-performance services at scale.
- Hands-on experience with cloud platforms such as OCI, AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
- Experience with containerized applications, CI/CD pipelines, and modern DevOps practices.
- Familiarity with production operations, including deployment, monitoring, alerting, troubleshooting, and incident management.
- Experience using observability tools such as Splunk, New Relic, or similar platforms.
- Good understanding of testing methodologies, release management, and version control systems (Git or SVN).
- Strong communication skills with the ability to articulate technical designs and collaborate effectively across teams.
Good-to-Have
- Experience with Ruby in addition to Java or other JVM-based languages.
- Hands-on experience with big data and parallel processing technologies such as Hadoop, Kafka, HBase, Spark, MapReduce, or similar frameworks.
- Prior exposure to healthcare, regulated domains, or mission-critical enterprise systems.
- Experience optimizing large-scale data pipelines for performance and cost efficiency.
- Familiarity with service reliability engineering (SRE) concepts and automation frameworks.
