Principal Consultant - Java Microservices with Core Banking
Job Summary
As a Senior Technical Lead, you will drive the development, implementation, and support of Oracle FLEXCUBE and core banking products for our European clients. This hands-on leadership role leverages technical and domain expertise to deliver solutions that address complex business challenges, ensuring quality, compliance, and client satisfaction. You will coordinate with onshore and offshore teams, manage project deliverables, and play a pivotal role in building and maintaining strong client relationships.
Qualifications & Skills
Mandatory

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field.

6–12 years’ experience in software development, implementation, or support of core banking applications, with at least 3 years in a team lead capacity.

Proven expertise with Oracle FLEXCUBE or similar core banking products, including designing customizations, coding, unit testing, integration, migration, and release management.

Strong programming skills in Core Java, J2EE, Microservices-related technologies, JavaScript, and XML.

Proficiency with Oracle SQL, PL/SQL, and experience with Oracle Database (18c or 12c).

Experience deploying and troubleshooting applications on Oracle Weblogic or similar.

Working knowledge of source control, release management, and issue tracking tools.

Excellent communication, client interaction, and documentation skills in English.

Willingness to work offshore, travel to client sites, adapt to rotational shifts, and pursue technical certification as required.
Good-to-Have

Exposure to the banking domain and familiarity with industry concepts and terminology.

Experience with DevOps, testing tools, Oracle OBIEE Reports, BIP, Fusion SOA Suite, and the latest banking technologies.

Strong skills in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint).

Prior experience in high-pressure, fast-paced, client-facing roles.

Responsibilities
Lead or participate in development, implementation, and managed service streams, guiding migration, testing, and integration activities for Oracle banking solutions.
Analyze, design, and implement robust solutions to meet client business requirements, ensuring adherence to Oracle and industry best practices.
Oversee the development lifecycle: customization design, coding, unit testing, and execution of testing cycles, including end-of-day processing, migrations, and integrations.
Ensure timely and thorough documentation, adhering to project standards and compliance requirements.
Coordinate software deployment and troubleshooting activities on application servers, particularly Oracle Weblogic.
Manage issue tracking and resolution, working cross-functionally with stakeholders to drive successful outcomes.
Enforce and follow Oracle/Client change control processes, audit, and compliance procedures.
Conduct knowledge transfer and assignment handovers, while providing detailed project status updates to supervisors.
Mentor and guide a technical team of 5–10, supporting skills development and collaboration.
